Different metals have their characteristics in strength, durability, and adaptability. Whether it is a high-load application scenario or a special requirement for corrosion, the material is the primary consideration. Through the classification of materials, metal pallets can flexibly meet the needs of multiple industries and support heavy-duty logistics and warehousing work.

Steel pallet is the most common type of metal pallet, and their greatest advantages are their strength and durability, they are typically constructed from carbon or low alloy steel. Galvanizing or spraying on protective coatings is done to prevent rusting during production because the raw materials have low rusting resistance.

Steel pallet provides the best load capacity compared to aluminum and stainless steel pallet, making them ideal for storing and transporting heavy goods. Furthermore, steel frames the whole pallet, which makes the structure quite stable, it is also perfect for dealing with and stacking the pallets frequently. In addition, it has a long service life and its long-term expenditure is reasonable.

Along with these advantages, it is significantly heavier than other pallets, which increases the risk of handling and makes it prone to rust in humid environments. Therefore, these pallets are more suitable for dry, highly loaded industries like construction and manufacturing.

Aluminum pallet is famous for being strong and light, effortless to handle because they are much lighter than steel and stainless steel pallet. Also, having a smooth surface, they are easy to clean and more corrosion resistant than steel pallet, making them suitable for certain damp and even chemical environments like food processing plants.

While steel pallet are the most durable, aluminum pallet is the best option for medium and light activity. Aluminum pallet is not as ultra-hygienic as stainless steel ones, but aluminum pallet manufacturer consider the low price and low weight, they are preferred in so-called weight-sensitive situations, especially in air logistics.

Stainless steel, which is used to construct the pallets, has excellent corrosion and chemical resistance, as well as superior hygiene standards. Just like aluminum pallet, they can be easily disinfected; however, unlike aluminum, stainless steel is not porous, which helps maintain higher stock hygiene.

Compared to stainless steel pallet, they are more suitable for acidic and humid environments.

They do not undergo oxidation, which makes them perfect for use in the food and pharmaceutical industries that require high hygiene standards.

Stainless steel pallet is also mechanically sturdy and outlast aluminum pallet while still being able to withstand hefty loads, unlike steel pallet. Even though they are expensive to make, their wide pallet of applications makes them valuable and advantageous in comparison to other materials. Because of its high cost, it is rarely used outside the food and pharmaceutical industry.

Custom Metal Pallets

We are a custom metal pallets manufacturer, this is to meet the needs of some special applications for custom steel pallets and custom aluminum pallets (not included in the default specifications of metal pallets listed in the above table that we sell), our custom process is as follows:

  1. Receive the inquiry: Ask the customer for detailed custom needs of the metal pallet, customer needs to provide the following information: Purpose and usage scenarios (such as food, machinery, and medical industry, etc.), size and shape, static capacity, dynamic capacity, racking capacity, metal material preference, whether to add handles or coatings.
  2. Design and development: After confirming the customer’s needs, the R&D team will adjust the product according to the actual production experience and structural rationality. After multiple negotiations with the customer, the designer will use CAD software to design the product and present the customized renderings to the customer.
  3. Quotation: At this time, we will calculate the cost based on the determined design and provide the customer with a formal quotation, after the customer agrees to the quotation, we will start making samples.
  4. Sample and Contract: After receiving the sample payment, we will finish the sample production within 7-12 days (including quality inspection time, including dimensional accuracy inspection and 24-hour loading of 1.5 times the load).
    Once the customer receives the sample and passes the quality inspection to confirm it is correct, we will sign a contract with the customer according to the previous quotation.

If we receive the advance payment, we will begin production immediately.

The Process of Metal Pallet Manufacturer

After the customer confirms the order, we will enter the metal pallet manufacturing process, and you will know our entire business process from the beginning of manufacturing to the customer receiving the goods.

1 Select Raw Materials And Cut Them

We will purchase high-quality raw materials from suppliers to ensure quality and select materials specified by customers for cutting. Use laser cutting method (laser cutting is suitable for cutting with high precision requirements, often used for cutting metal pallet sheets) to cut the metal into the specified size and shape;

2 Forming of Pallet Construction

Use a press or roller press to make the cut pieces into metal pallet construction, for components with complex shapes, multiple forming is required to complete;

3 Welding

After completing the components, they need to be assembled and welded in sequence according to the design drawings. Different metals have different welding methods and joint options, and using MIG and TIG technology can meet most welding needs;

4 Surface Treatment

After welding, surface treatment can be performed. Metal pallets that have been treated can improve corrosion resistance, meet food and medical hygiene requirements, and have a more beautiful appearance;

5 Quality Inspection

After the production is completed, each pallet must undergo a strict quality inspection process, including tests on size and shape, scratches and welding defects, load capacity, etc. If problems are found, they will be repaired immediately to ensure the delivery of high-quality products!

In this way, this is the end of our production, and the steps 1-5 take about 2-4 weeks, but we are a top Chinese metal pallet supplier, so we usually have sufficient stock and deliver goods as soon as the order is placed.

6 Heat Treatment or Fumigation

Unlike wooden pallets, metal pallets are free from pests and diseases, so when they are used for international shipment, they do not need to go through heat treatment or fumigation steps. This is also one of the advantages of metal pallets because it saves costs and transportation time;

7 Packaging

To ensure that the metal pallets are not damaged or corroded during transportation, we use anti-corrosion VCI film or foam pad packaging. After packaging, they are stored in the warehouse ready for shipment;

8 Shipping

Prepare customs clearance documents and other export documents for the exporting and destination countries, and deliver the goods to the port, waiting for loading;

The 6-8 steps take up to 4 days, given that we are near the Shanghai Port, it is usually completed in 2 days.

9 Shipping Time

The shipping time is the same as the international ocean freight routes departing from China. The following data is for reference:

For aluminum pallet and steel pallet, we can provide electro-galvanizing, hot-dip galvanizing, painting, or powder coating.

We have heavy duty steel pallet, light duty steel pallet, and the nine-foot steel pallet. They are all galvanized steel pallet.

Except for getting certificates that the metal pallet supplier should have, we will also send customers a sample and keep another one for quality comparison with the bulk goods. Please note that metal pallet samples need the customer to pay for the sample cost, samples of our wooden and plastic pallets are free.

Warranty

In addition, we provide a 3-year warranty for metal pallets, if the pallet is damaged under normal use, one damaged pallet will be replaced with a new one within this 3-year warranty.

We don’t have MOQ, but good quantity comes with good price. We recommend that you purchase at least one 20ft container, about 15 tons, which is more cost-effective.
